Story / Plot
After helping the Avengers during the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker returns home to Queens and attempts to resume his normal high-school life. However, Peter is eager to become a more important superhero and impress his new mentor, Tony Stark.
Peter spends his days attending school while secretly patrolling his neighborhood as Spider-Man. He helps ordinary people and stops small-time criminals, but he wants a larger challenge. His best friend Ned Leeds eventually discovers that Peter is Spider-Man after accidentally seeing him in his suit.
Peter discovers a group of criminals using advanced alien technology recovered from the Battle of New York. The weapons are being sold by Adrian Toomes, a former salvage contractor who became the Vulture after losing his original business following the Avengers’ battle.
Toomes and his crew use Chitauri and other advanced technology to build powerful weapons and sell them to criminals. Peter becomes determined to stop them, even though Tony Stark repeatedly tells him to stay away from dangerous situations.
Peter eventually discovers that Adrian Toomes is the father of his classmate Liz Allan. During the homecoming dance, Peter realizes that Liz’s father is the Vulture.
Peter leaves the dance and confronts Toomes. The Vulture attacks him and eventually discovers Peter’s secret identity. Despite this, Peter continues trying to stop Toomes from stealing advanced weapons.
The final confrontation takes place when Toomes attempts to hijack a plane carrying valuable Stark technology. Spider-Man battles the Vulture and saves the aircraft after it crashes near a beach.
Peter manages to save Toomes from falling to his death and leaves him for the authorities. Toomes is arrested, and Peter returns home.
Tony Stark then offers Peter a place with the Avengers. Peter initially accepts but ultimately decides that he wants to remain a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Stark reveals that the offer was partly a test and congratulates Peter on making the responsible choice.
