Doctor Strange Story / Plot
Dr. Stephen Strange is a highly successful and extremely confident neurosurgeon who has built his life around his medical abilities, wealth and professional reputation. He has little patience for people he considers less talented than himself.
Everything changes when Strange is involved in a serious car accident. His hands are severely damaged, leaving him unable to perform surgery. Although he spends his fortune searching for medical treatments that might restore his abilities, conventional medicine cannot repair the damage enough for him to return to his former career.
Strange eventually hears about Jonathan Pangborn, a former paraplegic who mysteriously regained the ability to walk. Pangborn directs Strange toward Kamar-Taj in Kathmandu.
At Kamar-Taj, Strange meets the Ancient One, a powerful sorcerer who introduces him to a hidden world of magic, astral projection, alternate dimensions and mystical energy. Strange initially struggles to accept what he is seeing, but he eventually begins training in the mystic arts.
While learning magic, Strange discovers that the Masters of the Mystic Arts protect Earth from supernatural threats. He also learns about Kaecilius, a former student of the Ancient One who has stolen pages from a forbidden mystical text and wants to summon Dormammu, a powerful entity from the Dark Dimension.
Kaecilius attacks several mystical sanctums around the world in an attempt to weaken Earth’s magical defenses. Strange becomes involved in the fight and begins using the Eye of Agamotto, an ancient artifact containing the Time Stone.
